Shifu Bridges AI and IoT in Groundbreaking LF Edge InfiniEdge AI Project

We are thrilled to announce that Shifu has been chosen to be part of the official LF Edge Sandbox project, InfiniEdge AI.

Project InfiniEdge AI is a framework dedicated to creating a platform that simplifies the deployment of AI at the edge for resource-constrained devices. This enables real-time inferences right where data is being generated, ensuring data privacy and security.

Shifu is being used as the intermediate layer for IoT connectivity to bridge AI and IoT. As a Kubernetes-native IoT gateway, Shifu virtualizes devices into Kubernetes Pods, allowing developers to manage IoT devices using the same infrastructure where they run applications. Shifu is also an AI-native IoT development framework, where each device is virtualized into a set of APIs, enabling developers to completely decouple their applications and hardware.

Shifu first showcased its AI capability last year with the release of the Shifu plugin for ChatGPT. The platform has already been running in production inside a mission-critical power plant, serving as an XR-based spatial computing platform that performs real-time inference at the edge.
